Sleep apnea, is a sleep disorder that consists of short disturbances in your breathing, where it either becomes very slight or sometimes even stops, while you are sleeping.

These disturbances are called apneas and can usually last from 10 to 20 seconds or sometimes longer also they can also occur 20 or 30 times or more an hour.

The foremost symptoms of sleep apnea are mainly loud snoring and becoming very sleepy during some time of the day. If you have a partner they may notice some periods when you stop breathing during your sleep.

A lot treatments begin with a lifestyle change, eg: cutting down on or stopping drinking alcohol, taking prescribed medication, weight loss, giving up smoking and taking up some form of exercise.
